The Gimple/Archangel:

This is one of the most brilliantly colored pigeons of them all. It is called the Archangel or Gimple depending on the country you are from. It is a member of a family of pigeons called the German Color Pigeon Group, AKA German Toys. This small, slender, elegant bird is a feast for the eyes in any cote even though it is a bit skittish This bird has a long history. If you would care to learn a little more about this fantastically colored pigeon, take a look at the standard link.
Bob McNalis is the breeder of this young hen, number 38.
There is more information about Gimple/Archangel in the Cote's Highlight page.

The Shows:

Breeders work hard to get their birds in perfect condition for the shows. Birds are bathed carefully, toenails are trimmed, and stray feathers may be plucked. Birds are also carefully transported so they will arrive in good condition. The airport nearest to a show will be crammed on opening day with arriving crates of pigeons. The best shipping crates have individual spaces for each bird, where they can travel in comfort to and from the show.
